HOLLYFEST
Scholarship Foundation
The Hollyfest Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit
charity which was established by the Hilliard Area Chamber of
Commerce for the purpose of providing scholarship assistance to high
school students in the Hilliard area. The Foundation awards the
largest local scholarship presented to a graduating student of
Hilliard High School.
SCHOLARSHIPS
The Hollyfest Scholarship Foundation presently awards an $8,000
scholarship to a graduate of Hilliard High School each year.
Selection is based on the applicant’s cumulative grade point average
and extracurricular activities with consideration of other financial
aid availability. Additionally, a $1,000 award is presented annually
to the Central Ohio Joint Vocational School in order to assist
Hilliard students attending there. The Hollyfest Scholarship
Foundation has bestowed over $50,000 in scholarships to date. This
reflects a true commitment by our community for its young people.
FUNDRAISING
Fundraising efforts to support the scholarship program began in 1984
with our annual dinner auction. With the recent construction of a
second high school in Hilliard, the Foundation increased its efforts
to get donations for this dinner auction. Our hope is to provide two
$8,000 scholarships, one for each graduating class of the two high
schools. While our original scholarship grant is endowed, we do need
additional assistance if we are to achieve and continue this goal.
This is where you and the entire business community can help. We
encourage you to meet with one of our Hollyfest Scholarship trustees
and discuss the opportunities and benefits of your participation.
Direct monetary contributions are welcome, as are tangible items for
auction – and your role as a buyer in the auction. As the Foundation
holds a Section 501C(3) exemption from the Internal Revenue Service,
your donation may be tax deductible.
We hope that you will include the Hollyfest Scholarship Foundation
in your budget for charitable contributions. We feel that our
children are worth the investment.
