The Chamber of Commerce has a wide range of activities in which members may become involved. Highlighted in the following text are some of the primary Chamber events. As with any special event, it takes the combined talents of many individuals to make an event a success. If you would like to volunteer or extend your services, or want additional information on any of the following Chamber activities, please contact the Chamber office at 876-7666.

ANNUAL MEETING

The Annual Meeting is designed as a forum for Chamber members to meet, express needs and ideas, and honor members of the Hilliard Area Chamber of Commerce  for their contributions. There are three categories for awards for members:

Most Involved Member

Emerging business:  in business less than 5 years in the Hilliard area; chamber member; consistent pattern of growth;

Established business: more than 5 years in the Hilliard area; community oriented, civic minded

CHAMBER CONNECTIONS

CHAMBER CONNECTIONS is a monthly newsletter distributed to all Chamber member businesses to keep members informed of events and news pertinent to the business community. It provides information on current and future Chamber activities and community information.

CHAMBER CONNECTIONS is also an easy and inexpensive way to get your company name in front of other members through advertising, sponsorship of an issue (gets a front page article on your business), or flyer inserts. Please contact the Chamber office at 876-7666 for more information concerning advertising or submitting an article.

GOLF OUTING

Each year, local businesses gather their golf enthusiasts to compete for honors at the annual Chamber golf outing and dinner.

Open to both men and women, the scramble is a great time for all, with prizes awarded to individuals for longest drive, closest to the pin, etc., as well as for best team scores.

Company teams may be formed or individuals can register to be assigned to a team. Watch for information in Calendar of Events for the time and place.

AMBASSADOR COMMITTEE

A Chamber Ambassador is a member of the Hilliard Area Chamber who is interested in becoming more active in the Chamber and within the Hilliard business community.  Ambassadors work with Chamber staff and board members to increase membership, improve membership retention and strengthen awareness of Chamber benefits.   Ambassadors improve communication within the Chamber by creating relationships with members and serving as liaisons between the Chamber and its membership.  Any Hilliard Area Chamber of Commerce member in good standing can become an Ambassador as long as they do not hold a board position or are not a chairperson with another local area Chamber.   If you are interested in learning more about becoming a Chamber Ambassador, contact the Chamber office at 876-7666

NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES

Each month the Chamber plans a variety of social events. One of the most popular is the monthly luncheon held at Heritage Golf Club. The luncheon generally features a guest speaker. Cost is kept to a minimum and everyone is invited to attend.

Other events which offer excellent networking potential are the Business After Hours and the Morning Business Network Exchange. The Business After Hours enables the hosting members to "show off" their base of operations, new products, or introduce new personnel. If you would like to host a Business After Hours, contact the Chamber office at 876-7666.

The Morning Business Network Exchange which is for chamber members only meets on the third Tuesday every month from 8:00AM to 9:00AM at the Tutoring Club at 4686 Cemetery Rd. The group meets for coffee, networking and information sharing Two businesses will be given a chance to speak for 5 minutes to either talk about their offerings or to educate the group on a relevant topic.  Contact Josh at 777-8999 or the chamber office at 876-7666 to obtain more information

HOLLYFEST ARTS AND CRAFT SHOW

The Hollyfest Arts and Crafts Show is the largest fundraising event for the Chamber. This annual event is always held the first full weekend in December and features 118 local and out-of-state artisans and crafters who sell handcrafted items.

The proceeds from this event provide the yearly operating funds for the Chamber in addition to providing money for scholarships for Hilliard students for post secondary colleges. 118 crafters fill the gymnasium and field house of Hilliard Davidson High School with over 4,000 people attending. This is a juried arts and crafts show.  The deadline of July 1 has passed and we will not accepting any late applications. We also will not be accepting late applicants for the alternate list in case of a cancellation. Our 2008 application will be on our website in March 2008 and the deadline will be July 1, 2008 to submit the application.
